Abstract
Presenting God's mercy in society is one of the important aspects in developing the kingdom of God. According to the document “Misericordiae Vultus” (A Heart Full of Mercy), God's mercy is expressed as an inherent characteristic of His nature. This mercy is not only an act of charity, but also an attitude of life that requires daily practice through silence, reflection, encounter, and personal sharing. God's compassion also translates as the ability to feel what someone is feeling and suffer with them. This is reflected in missionary action that brings goodness and liberation to all, whether they are recipients or not. This article aims to explore the importance of presenting God's mercy in society based on the document Misericordiae Vultus, issued by Pope Francis to celebrate the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy in 2015. This article is a qualitative research through a literature study that uses the text analysis method. The Church document used as the main source is the Misericordiae Vultus document issued by Pope Francis. Through this article, Christians are expected to live and realize mercy in the midst of current social challenges.
