Publication Ethics

InCasst, a conference hosted by the Faculty of Science and Technology at Sanata Dharma University, is dedicated to maintaining rigorous publication ethics. This commitment extends to all participants in the conference's publication process - organizers, the scientific committee, reviewers, and authors alike. Our primary aim is to deliver conferences and publish significant scientific contributions of the highest quality for the intellectual community. To that end, the specific responsibilities of each involved party are outlined below:

The organizer is responsible for:

  1. Establishing the conference's title, topic, and scope.
  2. Securing prominent keynote speakers aligned with the title, topic, and scope of the conference.
  3. Clearly defining contractual relationships among all involved stakeholders (reviewers, scientific committee, organizers, etc.).
  4. Upholding the confidentiality of all research-related information.
  5. Ensuring adherence to intellectual property rights.
  6. Managing the publication of accepted articles through collaboration with publishers.

The scientific committee is responsible for:

  1. Meeting the needs of both readers and creators, and continuously seeking to enhance the quality of the publications.
  2. Ensuring the quality of all articles presented and published in the proceedings.
  3. Prioritizing objective freedom of expression and integrity of authors' academic records.
  4. Preserving an open mind towards novel perspectives, even those that challenge our own views.

The reviewers are responsible for:

  1. Evaluating submitted articles and reporting the review outcomes to the scientific committee to aid in determining their acceptability for presentation.
  2. Avoiding reviewing any article where the reviewer’s involvement could be perceived as a conflict of interest.
  3. Providing helpful suggestions, constructive criticism, and positive guidance to authors.
  4. Protecting the authors' privacy by not revealing the review results, comments, or recommendations to external parties.
  5. Encouraging authors to enhance the quality of their submissions.

The responsibility of the authors:

  1. All listed authors must satisfy established authorship guidelines.
  2. Authors bear joint responsibility for the entire research and the submitted article, including the methodology, analysis, calculations, and all details therein.
  3. All sources of funding, both direct and indirect, must be stated clearly.
  4. A clear explanation of the research limitations is required.
  5. Authors are expected to provide professional, scientific, and timely responses to reviewer comments.
  6. In the event of a withdrawal, the scientific committee must be notified in writing.
  7. By submitting their work, authors affirm its originality, confirming that it has not been previously published and is not currently under consideration by another publisher.
