Our policy at InCASST strictly enforces zero tolerance for plagiarism. We have established clear guidelines detailing the consequences when an article submitted for publication is identified as plagiarized. Plagiarism is defined as taking someone else's words or ideas and presenting them as if they were your own.
This policy requires all submitted papers to be new, original work that hasn't appeared in print before or isn't currently being considered for publication. When incorporating text directly from another source, it's crucial to distinguish it from your own writing through proper indentation, the use of quotation marks, and explicit identification of the original source.
You need permission from the copyright holder (and ideally the original author) to reproduce any text longer than two or three sentences, or any graphic material, from another source. You also must cite your source, noting where the material was previously published.
Every paper submitted will be scanned by Turnitin for plagiarism. If plagiarism is found, the Scientific Committee will review the paper and decide on appropriate actions based on the severity of the plagiarism, following established guidelines:

- Similarity Index > 40%: Rejected. The article was rejected with no possibility of resubmission because of significant issues with citations and/or paraphrasing.
- Similarity Index 15% ≥ sim ≥ 40%: Resubmission. You need to cite all sources for any information you paraphrase, even if you've already provided a citation for the original text.
- Similarity index < 15%: Accepted. You always need to cite all external sources you use.
- For cases 2 and 3, you need to thoroughly revise their article, ensuring all necessary citations are added and any borrowed text is properly paraphrased. You should then resubmit the article along with an updated Turnitin report.
